Senior Vice President – Corporate Office
Mr. Byron is the Sr. Vice President, Corporate Office, M&A / IR for Globecomm. Mr. Byron joined Globecomm in January 2000, reporting to the Chairman and CEO. Since his arrival, Matt has been the head of the acquisition team responsible for four acquisitions and has played an integral part in the Company's last three financing rounds. He is responsible for the Company's investor base, investment banking relationships and managing the Company's five research analysts. Matt also assists the CEO in a variety of tasks such as working with the formation of Cachendo, Globecomm's consulting services Company and provides valuable insight as to the direction and vision for the company. Matt has been regularly presenting to the Company's Board of Directors since 2003, is the head of the Unified Corporate Communications Committee and is a member of the Company's IT steering committee.
Mr. Byron began his career at the accounting firm of Ernst & Young in 1993 and was the youngest member of the Long Island office vision 2000 team, which was centered on providing high profile clients, such as the NFL's New York Jets football team franchise, with technological advice to improve business operations. Mr. Byron went on to work in the corporate office of Cheyenne Software and Veeco Instruments, two rapidly growing technology firms where he gained valuable experience in directing and navigating rapidly growing publicly traded technology companies while working on acquisitions and financing rounds valued in the hundreds of millions.
Mr. Byron is a graduate of the Binghamton University School of Management and passed the CPA exam in 1995.
