Network Operations Center
Globecomm's Network Operations Center is the nerve center of the network. The
NOC is responsible for monitoring both the Long Island International Teleport
and remote teleports. The NOC is staffed 24/7 by technicians and engineers, and
is further supported by Globecomm's engineering team, of whom more than one
hundred live within thirty miles of the facility.

The NOC monitors circuits on multiple levels to ensure that service-level
agreements are being met. Globecomm believes in monitoring both the equipment
related to a circuit and the data or video itself when permitted by the
customer. This means that each circuit is monitored by multiple systems,
ensuring that any anomalies are quickly identified and resolved. In the event
of any incident, the monitoring system automatically triggers audible and
visual alerts, sends email to NOC technicians and key engineers, and creates a
trouble ticket to log and track the event.
Standard monitoring covers all satellite RF and IF components, baseband
equipment including routers and encoding platforms, and all terrestrial
connections to the Long Island International Teleport. In addition to
monitoring local operations, Globecomm offers remote-site monitoring for
multi-service VSAT and other two-way and broadcast networks.
Help Desk
The NOC is also contains Globecomm's Help Desk.
Locating the Help Desk within the NOC enables the customer care representatives
to have immediate access to all tools necessary to troubleshoot any problems as
well as to the broadcast, network, and satellite technicians and engineers who
are on staff 24 x 7.
